This the first of several Doll Head Still Life paintings. On a trip to France in 2005 we came across this scene of doll heads lined up on an outdoor shelf. All, or almost all, had their eyes painted out with emerald green. Quelle bizarre! So I've created vignettes of this photo and am now painting my way through the doll heads.
